Rates & supplements · 2026 season

Every figure on this page is the whole figure.

Circuit rates are quoted per person sharing, in Namibian dollars, and include accommodation, the vehicle, park permits, guide fees where a guide is scheduled and the roadbook. What is not included is listed as plainly as what is. Rates hold from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027; green-season nights are already discounted in the low column rather than hidden behind an asterisk.

A fuel stop on a gravel road with a hand-painted price board and two pumps Solitaire, C19. Diesel, one bakery, and the last cash-only pump on the circuit.

01 — Circuit rates

Per person sharing, supported self-drive, all nights included.

Low season runs 1 November to 30 June; high season 1 July to 31 October. Two people sharing one vehicle is the basis; three or four in a vehicle reduces the per-person figure, and we will show you both.

05 — In and out

What the rate carries, and what it does not.

The right-hand column is the one worth reading twice. Fuel is the item most people underestimate: budget roughly N$ 3 800 for SS-08 and N$ 9 200 for GT-14 at current pump prices.

Included in the rate

Everything below is booked, paid and confirmed before you land.

  • Accommodation every night, named and confirmed at booking
  • Vehicle unlimited kilometres, standard cover, two spares
  • Park permits and concession levies for the whole route
  • Roadbook printed and digital, with fuel and gate times
  • Guides where scheduled, including conservancy fees
  • Support 24-hour Windhoek number, answered by our own staff

Not included

Quoted separately on request, or simply paid as you go.

  • International flights and any visa charges
  • Fuel for self-drive circuits, roughly N$ 2.30 per kilometre
  • Lunches and all drinks, unless a lodge is full board
  • Travel insurance which we require and will ask to see
  • Optional activities booked once you are on the ground
  • Gratuities entirely at your discretion

Worth knowing

Small figures that decide how a fortnight feels.

  • Children under 12 sharing pay 60% of the adult rate
  • Groups of six or more paying together, 7% off the circuit rate
  • Third adult in a vehicle reduces the per-person rate by about 14%
  • Zero-excess waiver N$ 420 per vehicle per day
  • Tyre and glass cover N$ 180 per vehicle per day, strongly advised
  • Airport transfer Hosea Kutako to Windhoek, N$ 690 per vehicle
06 — Deposit and payment

Four dates, and none of them are a surprise.

Namibian lodges hold space on deposit and release it hard, so these dates are the lodges' dates rather than ours. We will always tell you the release date before you pay anything.

01

Provisional hold

Space held for seven days at no charge while you read the itinerary. Nothing is payable and nothing is committed.

02

Deposit

25% of the circuit rate confirms every booking on the route. Payable by EFT or card, no surcharge either way.

03

Balance

Due 45 days before arrival. One free date change up to that point; after it, lodge cancellation terms apply and we will quote them.

04

Cancellation

More than 60 days, deposit less N$ 1 500 refunded. 60 to 30 days, 50%. Inside 30 days, no refund — which is why we require insurance.

Are rates ever quoted in euros or dollars?

Yes, on request, at the prevailing rate on the day of quotation and fixed for fourteen days. The Namibian dollar is pegged one-to-one to the South African rand, so a rand quotation is identical.

What happens if a lodge closes?

We rebook at the same standard or better at our cost, and tell you the same day we hear. It happens perhaps twice a season, usually for a borehole failure.

Is there a fee for planning?

No. Itineraries, revisions and routing advice are free before deposit, however many versions it takes. We would rather you booked the right fortnight.

Do you hold peak dates?

July and August inside Etosha and Sesriem sell out eight to ten months ahead. A provisional hold on those dates is genuinely worth taking early.
